Now living in Hampshire, Norwegian national Sonja is married to an Englishman.
Sonja studied woven textiles and taught for several years before moving into education management. Moving to the New Forest gave her the opportunity indulge in her passion for ceramics and have her own studio. Her work is hand built using stoneware clay, decorated using underglazes and finished with a transparent glaze.
Her practice is influenced the ebb and flow of the natural world especially the sea. Her work is in America, Australia, Norway, France and England.
