Tony Slade is an artist based in Bramshaw in The New Forest specialising in landscapes and seascapes working with acrylics on canvas and board.
Born in Bristol in 1964 Tony lived in Chipping Sodbury where he was trained by his father as an apprentice Signwriter. During the subsequent years he has carried out numerous professional sign writing projects gaining valuable experience and developing a diverse range of artistic skills and techniques.
In 2009 Tony moved to a village north of Bath where he first started to paint landscapes - “I just loved the feeling of space and freedom… the dramatic sunsets and stormy skies combined with the colours of the beautiful English countryside. I’ve wanted to reduce my commercial sign writing so I could focus more on my art, to push myself and take my art more seriously”. Tony started to paint more art along side his sign writing work but it wasn’t until the beginning of 2015 when Tony moved to the New forest that he started to develop art as his main source of income. “I’ve always loved the sea and living near the south coast has had a huge influence on my work”.
