Roz Hamer Art Exhibition
An exhibition of contemporary and abstract paintings by Holbrook artist Roz Hamer.
This interesting and exciting collection includes oil paintings, mixed media and acrylic paintings which trace the artist’s response to places and people.
After completing a year’s development course at the St Ives School of painting in Cornwall, Roz has expanded her painterly vocabulary and uses those materials which best fit her subject. The use of oil paint has helped her to develop a unique abstract narrative about her local community which is an ongoing project entitled ‘Holbrook Hands’. A three dimensional piece ‘Capture’ has been exhibited previously at the Porthmeor gallery in St Ives and currently at the Buxton Museum and Art Gallery as part of the Derbyshire Open for which it has received a Commendation. This piece which required the participation of 100 Holbrook residents, is included in this exhibition.
The paintings inspired by land and sea capture the emotions and memories evoked by particular places, lending the pieces a unique, surreal quality. All works are available for purchase and limited edition prints will be available to order.
