Axle Arts is very much defined by Director Bridget Sterling, who after coming to Bath to study a post graduate degree in fine art at Bath Spa University, was drawn into the commercial art world and has remained ever since. After six years with Bath Contemporary as their Director, she left to start Axle Arts, a new style of gallery exhibiting by appointment from the comfort and informality of her home, as well as through collaborative partners.
The gallery has a strong e-commerce presence with an attractive site that offers pre-calculated local and international P&P costs across a wide range of artworks. They also offer a guarantee money back if you're not 100% happy with how your purchase looks in your chosen setting. Axle Arts' philosophy is very much that art enriches our lives in a way that is vital to our well-being, often becoming a friend that lives with us for the rest of our lives. Hence our slogan, Art is a necessity not a luxury.
