Bankside is the Gallery of the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS), and the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE). Its vibrant exhibitions celebrate the very best in contemporary water-based media and original print, championing the work of both new and established artists.
For nearly 40 years Bankside Gallery has played a crucial role in displaying and promoting work on paper; exploring its boundaries while supporting education activities organised by the RWS and RE.
The Bankside Gallery attracts over 100,000 visitors a year. The mood of the Gallery is cool and spacious, with a crisp and contemporary design. It is an ideal space for a wide range of solo and group shows.
Both established and emerging artists exhibit with us, and our expert staff are on hand to offer professional technical support and advice throughout.
The total ground floor area of 200sq metres is lit by low-energy lighting, and provides a deceptively spacious and versatile area, with 100 square metres of hanging space.
