Lymington Arts Group
The Lymington Arts Group promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of visual arts and crafts by providing meetings, workshops and outings. We hold bi-annual exhibitions of members works, one in Lymington in the Spring and a Summer one on Milford village green in August.
Regular monthly meetings are held in the Lymington Community Centre, Cannon Street, Lymington Hampshire, SO41 9BR on the second Friday of each month.
In 1979 Alison Bolton was holding an evening class and whilst chatting to Cliff Allison, realised there was a need for an evening group of some sort where people could get together to learn more about art, view each others work and be sociable, so Lymington Arts Group was formed. The primary objectives were that there would be no required standard, all would be welcome and crafts also to be included.
38 Years on, The Lymington Art Group now has a membership of around 90. New members are always welcome, professional, amateur or those just interested art.
Members of the Group enjoy the following:-
- Monthly meetings
- Bi-annual newsletters
- Two excellent venues for exhibiting
- Ten demonstrations with professional artists
- Paint Outs monthly during the Summer months
- Regular exhibitions by member artists
- Sales table
- Artist listing on The Local Art Scene
Annual membership is just £25 per annum.
