Creative Cityscapes Art Textiles

Time: 10am-2pm

In this workshop we will be exploring cityscapes. We will be looking at the illustrations of Jenny Seddon from the wonderful book titled Skylines. This will help us understand how we can simplify buildings but still retain their character. In addition you will learn how to apply paint to fabric to create an atmospheric skyline, how to use the applique method to attach one piece of fabric to another and finally we will be exploring how to add detail using paint and stitch.

Aim of the course
To spend an enjoyable few hours with like minded people, learn some new techniques and go home with a lovely finished artwork.

A photograph of an inspiring but simple city scape
A sewing machine that you are familiar with (make sure you have the bobbins as they do vary)
Fabric scissors if you have them

What you will not need?
Materials paints or threads (all these will be provided)
